Alphy and the Magic Mirror

Free on TVO Learn, Alphy and the Magic Mirror helps Ontario preschoolers recognize letters of the alphabet. In a magical dream land, players guide Alphy through letter-recognition challenges to earn rewards and meet new friends.

As the sole game artist on this project, I created all concept art, character design, UI and animation. Besides the opportunity to draw cute characters and beautiful environments, I ensured the design met strict equity and web accessibility standards.

This game was created from scratch with a team of 5 over four months. To deliver on time, I brainstormed visual concepts and story ideas with the game designer and producer and worked back and forth with the developer on artwork and animations, adjusting as necessary to improve performance and accessibility.

Miga the Helper Bug

Miga helps Alphy through the tutorial levels, and pops up throughout the game with hints. They puff up when displaying a letter for Alphy to match their mirror, and deflate when the match is correct, returning them to their original state.
